Dana Walden serves as chairman of Twentieth Century Fox Television (TCFTV), the prolific supplier of blockbuster television programming and home to many of the most acclaimed writers, producers and performers working in television. Walden, partnered in this position with Gary Newman since 1999, delivered the two most celebrated hits of the past two seasons in Ryan Murphy’s Glee, which won the Golden Globe for Best Series, Comedy or Musical two years running, and Levitan and Lloyd’s Modern Family, which took home the Primetime Emmy for Outstanding Comedy Series two years in a row. She is currently responsible for some of the most successful new shows of the 2011-12 season, including the Golden Globe-nominated New Girl, starring Zooey Deschanel; American Horror Story, from Glee creators Ryan Murphy and Brad Falchuk; Homeland, starring Claire Danes; the Tim Allen comedy Last Man Standing; and the sci-fi adventure Terra Nova. Sons of Anarchy, co-produced with FX Productions, once again broke ratings records, and the studio’s domination of prime time animation remains unrivaled, with The Simpsons poised to celebrate its astounding 500th episode this year.

Walden had last served as the studio’s executive vice president of drama, overseeing development and programming that consistently rated at the top of critics’ lists and ranked first in Preimetime Emmy and Golden Globe Award nominations. She joined the creative department in 1994 as vice president of current programming. She began her career in public relations, rising to senior vice president, media and corporate relations for both Twentieth Television and Twentieth Century Fox Television.

Walden sits on the board of directors for the Greater Los Angeles Zoo, the Chrysalis organization, UCLA’s Jonsson Cancer Center and the Saban Free Clinic. She has been honored by the Jonsson Cancer Center Foundation, the Saban Free Clinic and was given the Legal Aid Foundation’s Access to Justice award. A graduate of the University of Southern California with a B.A. in communications, she resides in Los Angeles with her husband, Matt Walden, and their two daughters.
