In Memoriam

In Memoriam

One of the most popular portions of each year's Primetime Emmy Awards telecast is the In Memoriam segment, a moving video salute to notable television figures who passed away since the previous year's ceremonies.

Unfortunately, due to inevitable time limitations, the producers of the telecast are not able to include all of the worthy television professionals who have passed away from year to year.

Therefore, in an effort to pay tribute to as many people as possible, the Television Academy created an In Memoriam database on its website, Emmys.tv.

Established in 2006, this database includes the name, date of passing, profession and key credits of the men and women who were included in the telecast, as well as many others who were not. The database also features an obituary and a place for family, friends and fans to share their thoughts and feelings about the deceased.

As an expression of gratitude to the television community as a whole, the Television Academy hopes that this database will provide a venue for the acknowledgment of all television professionals.
